After a couple of weeks of letting everyone guess what their new marketplace would sell, Envato finally revealed that it is in fact a premium tutorials marketplace. At first this seems a strange choice, given their existing subscription service with the Tuts+ network, but the new marketplace also includes ebooks and “business tutorials” so it’s sure to have a diverse assortment of items rather than endless photomanipulation tutorials.

So why should you care? Rather than pay a subscription, go to the effort of trying to sort the decent free tutorials available online from the useless ones, or hiring someone expensive to achieve something you can’t yet do yourself, now you can pay a few dollars and learn!

You can create site designs before paying a developer, or learn how to create those awesome sliders that every site seems to have nowadays but you’ve never previously tried to build. This promises to be a very useful resource for anyone with an “I could totally learn how to do that” attitude, not only towards running their website but towards running their business too.
